Dr. Ilan Cohn is one of Israel's leading experts in the field of intellectual property and has many years of experience in the field of patents and other intellectual property fields. He is a senior partner of Reinhold Cohn Group and manages the life science and chemistry department of the firm. In the course of his professional career, Ilan gained significant experience and expertise in turning intellectual property assets, particularly patents into a first tier asset. In addition to assisting entrepreneurs, investors and companies in dealing with patent matters, Ilan also advises and prepares a custom road map for building up and making use of intellectual property as strategic assets. He is involved in the establishment of intellectual property based companies in general, and in the field of life sciences, in particular, steering the build-up of the intellectual property of such companies into assets that yield profits to investors and shareholders. Mr. Yigal Erlich is the founding father of the Israeli venture capital industry. In 1992, Mr. Erlich convinced the Israeli government to allocate $100 million Within a period of three years, established ten venture funds. These successful funds invested in more than 150 start ups and were the backbone of what is labeled today as Start UP nation.
Between 1984 and 1992, Mr. Erlich served as the Chief Scientist of Israel's Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Mr. Erlich also started the Technology Incubator Program that led to the creation of 24 Incubation Centers throughout Israel. Mr. Erlich was instrumental in the establishment of several bi-national industrial and technology R&D cooperation agreements
Mr. Erlich holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry and an MBA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
